Mobile posts

Away from your desk? No worries.

You can post blogs from your e-mail account, so if you’re not at a computer, you can just use a phone.

Under the dashboard “panel,” you can enable users to post via e-mail.

Don’t let others see your secret e-mail address, or they can post too.

So now you’ve got some text on your blog, but what about visuals?

Obviously, we want to upload different types of content to jazz up our blogs.

On a post, there is a series of icons across the top of the toolbar. The first one is the “add an image” button.

When clicked you’ll be prompted to select a file.

IMPORTANT: WordPress isn’t omniscient. It won’t place the image in the post when you choose “Save all changes.”

You must choose “Insert into Post”

It’s quite easy. All you must do is add a “<!–nextpage–>” tag to a page, while in the HTML view.

Delaying a post

September 9, 2009

One of the features that you might find useful with WordPress, is the delayed publish feature.

To do this, simply create your blog, but before you publish, click on “Edit” under the Publish area on the right.

It will then allow you to choose the date and even time that the post will “go live.”

This can be useful for embargoed information.

It can also be useful for a reminder post for an event. Perhaps you’ve written pre-story information on an event, but want your blog to remind people of the event on the day of. Just write the info up and set a publish time.
